OpUSCR Summer Tour to Northern Ireland

The write-up below is a description of our plans

We have a programme which includes all the possible ringable bells available to date with some added interest as well and with coach transport throughout. Below is the proposed daily itinerary that we are working on and which we hope you will all find as exciting as we as organisers do.

Thurs 23 June 2016

Enniskillen and Londonderry. This is the first and probably the longest day of the tour even with only two towers!!!  Beginning at around 8am from the hotel, the coach will head for Enniskillen and then on to Londonderry before heading back to our hotel.

Friday 24 June 2016

We leave the hotel reasonably early to ring at Hillsborough, Newcastle, Rostrevor and finally Lurgan before heading back to our hotel.

Saturday 25 June 2016

Perhaps the most action packed day for any tower grabbers in our midst???

Drumbo, Belfast St Donard, Belfast St Mark, Holywood, possibly Bangor and finally Grey Abbey. Lots of scenery as well as bell towers!

Sunday 26 June 2016

Early start to head for Coleraine for service ringing followed by a tourist session to include any or all of the Giants Causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge or the Bushmills Distillery before heading back to the hotel for our main tour meal! Let’s see what our stamina can endure?

Monday 27 June 2016

Our last and shortest day will hopefully begin at Belfast St Thomas, the remaining Belfast tower, and then take us to Carrick Fergus and Ballymena before dropping off early departees at the airport. Those with more stamina may choose to stay an extra night at the hotel before heading for Arklow which we missed on our last tour for a final grab before heading home.
